Informative and Awareness Raising Webinar on : “Localizing the SDGs and the 2030 Agenda: Survey on the role of Local and Regional Governments and their Associations”, on 24 March, 2022
Since 2017, United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) and the Global Taskforce of Local and Regional Governments have reported annually to the United Nations on the “Localization” of the SDGs (you can find previous reports here).
In order to help Local and Regional Governments (LRGs) and their Associations to prepare and present our report to the United Nations in July 2022, UCLG has launched a survey to collect information on the progress made by LRGs in implementing the 2030 Agenda, as well as on their contributions to address the COVID-19 pandemic and their involvement in national recovery plans.
Indeed, this year, the High Level Political Forum (HLPF) will focus on the following theme: “Building back better from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) while advancing the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”. In this framework and to support and better prepare the Members of UCLG Africa (National/Regional Associations, Cities and other Local Governments) to complete this survey, UCLG and its Regional Section in Africa agreed to organize a Webinar to inform and raise awareness about the importance of this Survey. The Webinar will be organized on Thursday 24 March, 2022, from 10:00am to 12:30pm on Zoom plateform.
