Tackling the challenges of rapid urbanization in Africa requires that Cities, Local and Regional Governments (LRGs) be on the frontline of making Cities and human settlements safe, resilient and sustainable (SDG11). Most of the time, Leaders insist on improving their financial resources capacity to enable them to deal with such challenges. They seldom mention and advocate for the indispensable nature of Human Resource development and capacity, which is one of the most critical requirements for the development of effective and efficient local/Regional Public Institutions in Africa.

The African population, citizen and users are asking for effective and efficient Public Services. We can not reach such level of professionalism without a strategic position of the Human Resource Management within any Local or Regional institutions, and without the development of these Human Resources….

Main Objective:
Organization of the Constitutive General Assembly for the establishment of the National Chapter of the Local Africa HR-Net in Ghana.

Specific Objectives:
– Stock taking on the progress made in the field of HRM at national and local levels: Challenges and perspectives, through presentations and exchanges between peers around practical cases and/or successful experiences;
– Discussing and adopting the statutes and internal regulations of the Local Africa HR-Net Ghana;
– Setting up the National Executive Bureau;
– Making a statement on the creation of the Ghana National Chapter.
