6th Annual Africa Public Sector – Human Resource Managers Network (APS-HRMnet) Annual Conference, from 19 to 22 November 2019, ENSA, Rabat, Morocco
APS-HRMnet in collaboration with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, the African Local Governments Academy (ALGA) of UCLG Africa, the Ministry of Economy and Finance and Administration Reform, and the National School Administration, organized the 6th Annual Conference of the Public Sector Human Resource Managers Network 2019 on the theme “Leaving no one behind in building strong public service institutions: The Human Resource Management challenge 2030”. in Rabat from 19 to 22 November 2019.
This annual conference is part of the APS-HRMnet’s efforts to promote and strengthen leadership, excellence, integrity and professional standards in Human Resource Management (HRM) practices in public sector institutions in Africa.
The question of whether our institutions put the citizen at the heart of public action was an opportunity at the conference to share views on how we intend to “Leave no one behind” what must become a collective goal of our respective communities; human resource managers in the 21st century have no choice but to prioritize inclusion and planning for what is best for citizens at all levels if we want our institutions to thrive.
The meeting addressed a wide range of HRM issues from different angles including investment in human capital, social protection, promotion of innovation, digital transformation, African diversity as an asset to be exploited, the scope and impact of decision-making and the fight against corruption. All these themes were addressed with a common denominator relating to the concept of “gender”. These themes were debated by a panel of African and international HR experts and professionals, who enriched the event with their relevant experiences and analyses.
